Blogathon Vancouver 2008 Wrapup

Tagga Charity Blogathon - Lochmaddy FoundationThree weeks ago tagga participated in Vancouver’s 2008 Blogathon for charity, which involved a blog post every half hour for 24 hours.  It kept me up all night, but we got through it and have so far raised $650 for the Lochmaddy Foundation, a worthy cause.  Today is the last day of our fund raising effort via Dreambank, so please feel free to donate at the last minute to help us reach our $1000 goal.  Did I mention it was for a good cause?  Check out the tagga dream.

If you are interested in reading all 49 of my blogathon posts, and you probably are, the first one is here.

Dreambank - Give Dreams

When tagga signed up for the blogathon, we weren’t quite sure how we were going to collect money for our charity of choice.  Jenn Lowther over at Invoke told us about Dreambank.org.  I signed up for an account and created my dream very quickly.  All you need is a Paypal account to start collecting donations.  I would recommend Dreambank as a great way for not for profits to get their message across and collect donations.  Sadly, most not for profit organizations and not with it technology wise.  I think Dreambank is a great way for charities to ease into the Web 2.0 world.  Dreambank themselves should be proud; they are making a difference.

Feel free to check out tagga’s dream, maybe even donate while you’re at it?

Blogathon Vancouver 2008

Welcome to Blogathon Vancouver 2008!  When Tagga CEO Amielle Lake heard about this blogathon she decided that Tagga needed to be involved and for good reason.  The purpose of Blogathon Vancouver 2008 is to raise money for the charity of the blogger’ss choice by blogging every half hour for one solid day.  That means we’ll be churning our 49 quality posts over the next 24 hours.  It also means that I won’t be sleeping much…

I believe this blogathon was inspired by Vancouver’s own Miss604 having been inspired by her participation in a previous blogathon.  We at Tagga thank her kindly and welcome the opportunity to participate.  The charity we’ve chosen is the Lochmaddy Foundation, which is a cause that our sister company Invoke Media is heavily involved with.  We’ve setup a donations page at Dreambank, please donate! It would be great if we could raise the $1000 we’ve set our sights on.  Please find it in your hearts to help the Lochmaddy Foundation with their work in Mali.

Thank you in advance!
